This week in streaming delivers a little bit of everything, a long awaited superhero return, a surprisingly compelling sports documentary, and a new comedy that throws time travel into the criminal underworld. Letโs get into it.
Daredevil: Born Againย Season 2 on Disney+
More than a decade after the character first made his mark in live action, Daredevil: Born Again continues its run with a second season on Disney Plus.
Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer with heightened abilities who protects Hellโs Kitchen. Cox has owned this role since 2015, and rumors continue to swirl about his expanded presence in the next Spider Man film. Meanwhile, Jon Bernthalโs Punisher is also confirmed to appear, a welcome addition for longtime fans.
But as strong as Daredevil is, the real standout remains Kingpin, brought to life by Vincent D’Onofrio. His portrayal of Wilson Fisk, now both crime lord and mayor of New York, is chillingly effective. DโOnofrio continues to deliver one of the best villain performances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, right up there with Josh Brolinโs Thanos and Michael B. Jordanโs Killmonger.
The action remains top tier, and the series still feels like a comic book brought to life in serialized form.
Born to Bowlย on HBO Max
Donโt sleep on this one.
Born to Bowl follows six professional bowlers as they navigate the highs and lows of life on the lanes, a world filled with pressure, personality, and surprising drama. The series comes from the same creative team behind McMillions, and it shows in the storytelling.
What could have been niche turns into something genuinely compelling. The docuseries captures both the triumph and the grind of being a kingpin in a sport that doesnโt always get the spotlight it deserves.
Itโs one of the more unexpectedly engaging things streaming right now.
Mike & Nick & Nick & Aliceย on Hulu
If you needed a reason to press play, here it is. Vince Vaughn in a time travel crime comedy.
The film stars Vince Vaughn as Nick, a gangster navigating both the criminal underworld and a bizarre encounter with his future self. James Marsden plays his right hand man, while Eiza Gonzรกlez steals the show as Alice.
And yes, steals the show.
Gonzรกlez, often cast in more one note roles, gets the chance to flex her comedic timing here, and she delivers. In fact, many of the filmโs biggest laughs come from her performance, not Vaughnโs, which says a lot.
The supporting cast is stacked with Ben Schwartz, Stephen Root, and Keith David, and the film smartly uses time travel as a device rather than the main focus. This isnโt Back to the Future, itโs a comedy first, sci fi second.
Directed by BenDavid Grabinski, itโs a fun, offbeat ride worth checking out.
Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Specialย on Disney+
Nostalgia takes center stage with the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, now streaming on Disney Plus.
Hosted by Alex Cooper, the special reunites key figures from the original series and even features Miley Cyrus stepping back into her iconic alter ego.
While Cyrus has said there are no current plans to revive the series, citing the effort it would take, the door in entertainment is never fully closed. After all, revivals once seemed unlikely for shows like Boy Meets World, and yet audiences still got more time with Mr. Feeny and company.
Never say never.
