Fan-favorite characters return, including Walton Goggins as the unforgettable Ghoul, alongside Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten. This season also expands the cast with Justin Theroux, and in a surprising but welcome addition just in time for the holidays, Macaulay Culkin joins the ensemble.

Little Disasters

Finally, Little Disasters, a limited series psychological thriller now streaming on Paramount+, delivers something far darker—and deeply compelling.

Based on the novel by Sarah Vaughan, the series follows a tight-knit group of friends whose relationships begin to fracture after one woman’s baby suffers a mysterious head injury. What follows is a child welfare investigation that exposes buried resentments, fractured trust, and the emotional toll of parenthood.

The series stars Diane Kruger as Jess Karrasford, the mother at the center of the crisis. I spoke with Kruger about what drew her to the project and the emotional depth of the role.

“I hadn’t read the book. I got the first three scripts, and it was such a page-turner,” Kruger said. “I kept asking, ‘What is wrong with Jess? What’s going on?’ And as the show unraveled, it just got darker and more complex—especially with the female relationships. It felt like a very honest look at parenthood, friendships, and identity.”

Kruger also spoke about how the six-episode format allows for deeper psychological exploration than a traditional film.

“It’s definitely more in-depth, but it’s also exhausting,” she explained. “You don’t shoot in order. One moment you’re in episode one, the next you’re in episode six. The emotional journey in a single day can be extreme—especially on a show like this.”

Kruger is outstanding in the role, anchoring a series that blends family drama, suspense, and psychological nuance with precision.
