Just over a year ago sisters Kailey and Kaygan Tissue were running their online boutique, Kissue, out of their home—and that alone was a full-time gig. At the time, a brick-and-mortar version of Kissue was still a goal for the future, to be realized after Kaygan completed her degree at Texas Christian University. Well the future is now for the Tissue sisters, who recently announced the grand opening of their very first brick-and-mortar location at Memorial City Mall on Saturday, August 15, plus a kick-off party (and sale!) on Friday, August 14 at 7 p.m.
“We are extremely excited for this opportunity,” said Kailey. “Kaygan graduated from college in May, and we were presented with this chance to open our own store [at Memorial City Mall], which is huge for us. Once we signed the lease we only had one month until the doors opened, so we’ve been working day and night. We can’t wait to meet our customers in person!”
Longtime Kissue customers can expect the same edgy aesthetic, but with more offerings and an expanded line of accessories, including sunglasses. “We’re adding Quay sunglasses, an Australian brand offered at other major retailers like Topshop and Urban Outfitters, and we’ll also have more handbags and accessories,” explained Kaygan. “We’re adding even more inventory, and keeping our price point about the same, so we can offer more than we did online—but without any sticker shock for our longtime customers!”
The Memorial City Mall location is a great fit for the Kissue brand, and the sisters are eager to meet the new customers that foot traffic will bring to the store. “Memorial City Mall has been revamping and giving the mall a whole new look,” said Kailey. “They are bringing in higher end retailers, bringing in a Zara—which is a lot like our aesthetic, and we share a similar customer base—and we are excited to be a part of that movement.”
In advance of their Saturday, August 15 opening day, the Tissue sisters are holding a very special Grand Opening preview party on Friday, August 14, from 7-9 p.m. that includes 20 percent off everything storewide. Shop, enjoy light refreshments, and meet Kailey and Kaygan in person. Can’t make the grand opening? No worries—you’ll see both sisters in the store on a daily basis.
“We both live close by, which is great for us,” said Kailey. “We are grateful and excited to finally be bringing the Kissue experience to life for our customers. Kaygan and I will be there all day, every day. It's amazing to have a place where new customers can shop, and we can connect with our client base in person.” Don’t worry if you love shopping Kissue online—the online boutique will remain open as well.
The new Kissue store is located at Memorial City Mall near Dillard’s, next to Express. They will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
