Riff Trax: Night of the Living Dead

Talking during a film screening is usually considered a bad thing, but when Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett do it, it’s a new and hilarious form of performance art. With their RiffTrax Live series, the group hasn’t let the timeless art of mocking bad movies die. Today’s RiffTrax Live installment is the timeless zombie classic Night of the Living Dead. George Romero’s undead magnum opus inspired generation after generation of filmmakers, but that doesn’t mean that the film is beyond ridicule. Nothing is beyond the powers of Nelson, Murphy and Corbett to shred plot holes and bad editing for the endless amusement of us all. Typical exchange: “This place is boarded up pretty solidly now,” the film’s hero Ben says onscreen. “Windows behind me -not-with-standing,” quips Nelson of the clearly -unsecured glass panes visible just over the character’s shoulder.
