Scream on the Green

Trick, treat, tired. That’s usually the order of events on Halloween. One minute you're out on the street; the next, your kids are in a candy coma and you sink into the couch, depressed about the five pounds you managed to gain in five minutes. Avoid this phenomenon with Scream on the Green, where there are costumes galore and plenty of treats, but also "Scary-oke," featuring Halloween-themed songs, and entertainment from the likes of Living Statues, Roller Skating Car Hop Girls and fortune tellers. Little-kid-friendly events include costume contests (adults, kids and dogs), face painting and Puppet Pizazz. After dark, adults can shake the calories away at a DJ dance party under the stars. 6 to 11 p.m. 1500 McKinney. For information, call 713-400-7336 or visit Free.
