Oscar and Grammy-winning composer Stephen Sondheim didn't make his appointment with students at Dallas' Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts this afternoon due to illness, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Sondheim was to participate in a question-and-answer session with students as part of the Nasher Salon Speaker Series. He'll also miss a scheduled lecture at the Dallas Arts District's sculpture center.
Nevertheless, it hasn't been a dull week for Booker T. students. Yesterday, five-time Oscar-nominated actress Glenn Close made an appearance at the school. And a Nasher spokeswoman said she hoped both of Sondheim's events would be rescheduled.
