Staying physically active in the summer can be unbearable in Houston; running around or chasing a ball is difficult when its 101 degrees, windless and people are beginning to sweat in places they didnt even know they were able to. Space Center Houston is taking some but not all of the sweat and burn out of sports with its Summer Sports Slam.
The activities include virtual baseball, basketball and football and a DigiWall, along with actual physical games. In JumpShot Basketball, for in-stance, players can bounce up to three feet in the air from a trampoline to dunk like the NBA pros. And the 30-foot-long Human Foosball table uses tethers to strap players onto rows of bars, allowing them to move left and right and kick the foosball. Make a goal from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Through September 5. 1601 Nasa Parkway.
