After months of relative silence on when it will open (and the estimated $2.25 million upgrade to its space, the former home of Angelika Film Center in Downtown Houston), Sundance Cinemas announced recently that it is hiring, a sign that its opening is fast approaching.
Right now, the arthouse movie chain, one of Robert Redford's Sundance ventures, is hiring kitchen/bar managers and assistant managers for the Houston location. According to an e-mail from Manager Rob Arcos, the theater will start hiring floor staff in October.

The Houston location will only be the country's third. The other two locations are in San Francisco and Madison, Wisconsin. As previously reported, the movie theater is expected to open in November.
