David Beckhamยs arrival to America, along with his wifey Posh Spice, seems to have put soccer back in the news. Well, weยve got a couple of newsworthy games going on right here in H-town. SuperLiga is the first time the four best teams from the U.S.ยs Major League Soccer and Mexico get a chance to compete for bragging rights as the best team in North America. Today the Dynamos will play footsies with the Monarcas Morelia, a team with almost 80 years of history. On Wednesday, they meet D.C. United. The fight will be sure to bring out plenty of drama ย and machismo ย from both sides. A Dynamo win will help the team to the final game August 29, where the first-place team will receive a prize of 10,760,000 pesos (roughly equivalent to a million dollars). This entertainment will be all out on the field ย no sightings of ex-Spice Girls to distract from the action.
