The Coitus Plays

The Coitus Plays, a pair of one-acts that discusses sexual relations, is neatly divided into Pre and Post. Pre, written by Houston’s own Peter Wittenberg Jr., “is about a writer who can’t get it up,” says Eric James of the newly formed Nightcap Theatre. “He’s not sure if his problem is writer’s block or something else. He wants to figure out his past so that he can move forward.” To that end, he talks with his friends, ex-girlfriends and an imaginary porn star/therapist.

James wrote Post. It takes place immediately after two men have finished having sex, in what is supposed to be a one-night stand. Their pillow talk unexpectedly turns into a series of surprising confessions and an exploration of sexuality. 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with an additional show February 15. Through February 25. Obsidian Art Space, 3522 White Oak. For information, call 281-788-2319 or visit $15.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: Feb. 9. Continues through Feb. 25, 2012
