The Easter Orange Hunt

Leave it to the offbeat artistic visionaries at local treasure The Orange Show to put its own spin on an Easter tradition with the Easter Orange Hunt. Here, anxious kiddies will be on the prowl for (what else?) oranges! But don’t worry, if your tyke has a sweet tooth, there will be candied treats planted throughout the maze of the Orange Show Monument as well. Other activities will include a very Orange Show-ish petting zoo with bunnies and dogs from Beagle Rescue. We predict cuteness will abound, and grandparents around the city should be receiving lots of digital photos in their inboxes soon. 1 to 3 p.m. 2402 Munger Street. For information, call 713-926-6368 or visit www.orangeshow.org. Free.

KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
Bob Ruggiero has been writing about music, books, visual arts and entertainment for the Houston Press since 1997, with an emphasis on classic rock. He used to have an incredible and luxurious mullet in college as well. He is the author of the band biography Slippin’ Out of Darkness: The Story of WAR.
