The Irish Tenors’ Christmas Special

Standing on the musical middle ground between artsy (they practice a classical format) and popsy (they are approachable to Celtic music novices), the Irish Tenors have created a place for themselves on the world music charts, wowing audiences who enjoy a good jig or old emerald folk song. Since their breakout PBS special in 1998, the Tenors have become the second-highest grossing touring act from Ireland (number one is a little group called U2). The trio will make their Houston debut today at Jones Hall with a Christmas Special full of warm, crowd-pleasing renditions of seasonal treats. 8 p.m. 615 Louisiana. For tickets and information, call 713-227-4772 or visit www.spahouston.org. Tickets start at $22.
