The Pearl Fishers

Famed composer Georges Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, the tale of two loyal friends and their shared passion for a woman, makes its Houston premiere at Opera in the Heights. At first the men recant their feelings in order to save their friendship, but when the woman comes back into their lives again years later, neither man can deny his love for her. The opera, which Keith Chapman, the assistant artistic director at OH!, calls “a bit underrepresented,” has been making a resurgence in recent years. 7:30 p.m. March 24. Through April 3. Lambert Hall, 1703 Heights. For a full schedule, call 713-861-5304 or visit www.operaintheheights.org. $20 to $49.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., April 3, 2 p.m. Starts: March 24. Continues through April 2, 2011
