The PlayDate

Navigating the singles scene isn't child's play, but it will certainly seem like it at today's PlayDate, where scoring takes on a whole new meaning. Instead of the usual cruise-or-lose atmosphere you find at most singles' bars, PlayDate offers a more casual setting where the focus is on having fun and making friends. Along with the usual eat/drink/dance activities, games are scattered throughout the club Ñ from Monopoly and Scrabble to Twister and UNO, and everything in between. Organizers keep the fun going with some adult versions of Simon Says and the like, and there's plenty of mingling time on the schedule. (Come on, Twister when you're tipsy, that's got to be fun.) 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Inferno Bar and Grill, 7637 FM 1960 Road West. For information, call 713-283-2469 or visit $10.
