The Rocking Dead Halloween Extravaganza featuring Here Come the Mummies

The Rocking Dead Halloween Extravaganza, Houston Press' contribution to the haunting season, is a veritable House of Blues takeover. There's a line-up of appropriately named entertainment including Here Come the Mummies, an R&B/funk band that perform in full mummy regalia; The Graceland Ninjaz, an indie band with a wildly diverse repertoire (covers of Pitbull, Elvis Presley, Eminem and The Clash, with a few originals thrown in for good measure); and Houston Press Music Awards Best Rock Band nominee the Bayou City Outlaw Band, which will display its signature mix of rock and dirty blues. The bands go on at 8 p.m., and all ages are invited to this event in the Music Hall. Later that evening, beginning at 10 p.m., the Naughty Nightmare Burlesque and a slew of DJs perform in the House of Blues' Crossroads and Foundation rooms in shows that are strictly for guests 21 and older. Drink specials, food, treats and costume contests with cash and prizes going to the winners will round out the evening's offerings.
Fri., Nov. 1, 7 p.m., 2013
