The Wizard of Oz sing-a-long

You know you do it alone in the shower anyway, so you might as well do it in public, right? We’re talking about singing, of course (get your mind out of the gutter!). Put on your ruby slippers and head down to the movie theater to belt out the hits at a sing-along screening of the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz. Let the luscious Judy Garland be your guide as you sing “Over the Rainbow,” “Ding, Dong! The Witch Is Dead,” and other ditties about brains, hearts and courage (we suggest you bring three friends for a quartet). In case you don’t have all the songs memorized (gasp!), lyrics will appear onscreen. The screening starts late enough to leave you some time to sneak in a little liquid courage beforehand. 11:55 p.m. today and tomorrow. River Oaks Theatre, 2009 West Gray. For information, call 713-866-8881 or visit $9.50.
Fri., Sept. 19, 11:55 p.m.; Sat., Sept. 20, 11:55 p.m., 2008
