there is no answer as to why me: A Dance Tribute to David Rakoff

Immerse yourself in writer David Rakoff’s controversial wit and watch his stories unfold in dance, words, music and film when FrenetiCore remembers Rakoff in there is no answer as to why me: A Dance Tribute to David Rakoff. “I wanted to present a show in December that offers audiences a very different holiday experience. Merging Rakoff’s funny, clever writing with the somber reality of his death last year gives us all a chance to reflect on what, and who, we treasure most in our own lives. I want [audiences] to walk out of the theater ready to embrace life with a renewed passion,” says Rebecca French, founding artistic/executive director of FrenetiCore Dance Theater and a Rakoff fan. “I want them to feel the way I do about David Rakoff, like he’s a close friend that enriched their lives and made them laugh, cry, and feel grateful to know him.” With definite adult themes, the show is not intended for preteens. French promises nothing is extremely risqué, but notes that besides death, the show touches on infidelity. “A refined dance palate is not required to enjoy this show — there are recorded stories, film, music and narrative movement. This show includes three amazing choreographers and lots of great music and film, in addition to our incredible cast of 15 dancers.”
