Third Course: Spring Mixed Rep

If the dance season must draw to a close, it might as well end with some greatest hits. With Third Course: Spring Mixed Rep, the Dominic Walsh Dance Theater performs new and old favorites, highlighting Walsh’s penchant for eclectic sources of inspiration. Time Out of Line, a new work, incorporates multimedia and visual arts — including a routine in which the dancers, moving to Walsh’s choreography, actually paint on the (covered) floor. Another work, which Walsh created for company member Domenico Luciano, is set to one of Debussy’s most popular pieces, “Clair de Lune.”

“I am looking forward to creating movement that reframes this piece of music that we, as a culture, have such a familiar relationship with,” Walsh said in a press release. The program also includes the popular — and emotional — Dying Swan, performed by Rachel Meyer, who plays a fragile woman at a formal party.

There’s also the romantic For the Two of You, which Walsh created in 2005 as a wedding gift for two friends he had danced with at the Houston Ballet. 7:30 p.m. daily. Through May 7. Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-315-2525 or visit $25 to $52.
