Today's Your (NSFW) Birthday!

One way we get writing ideas is scrolling through various dates of the week on Wikipedia looking for famous birthdays or historical occurrences. When we were going through the birthdays on March 14, we noticed that an awful lot of porn stars were born on this day. True, this is an art blog, and it's up for debate whether or not pornographic acting is art. But seeing how we spent 10 years of our life wearing women's underwear while people shouted "fuck" at us, we're not going to throw stones.

First up on the list is Johan Paulik, a Slovakian gay male star who turns 36 today. We're not really familiar with Paulik's work, but luckily someone was kind enough to scan in an entire issue of QX Magazine that features a review of his, ahem, seminal 2001 work in the film Cover Boys. Ain't the internet keen? The review reads...

"The hardcore action sequences here are stunning, and shows why these two guys are such world-class porn stars. Johan awesomely fucks the almost-exclusively top Sebastian Bonnet, and, afterwards, fucks the glorious Tim Hamilton in the first scene he has ever done!"

The next year Paulik was inducted into the GayVN Hall of Fame, partly because of his performance in Cover Boys. Happy birthday, Johan!

Next up is a double dose, as Brianna Love and Eva Angelina both turn 26 today. Brianna started out as a Missouri stripper before making it into the world of porn. She's a three-time AVN Award Winner, including a 2008 win for Best Gonzo in her film Brianna is Buttwoman. We have absolutely no idea what one does to earn best Gonzo, unless it's boinking a Muppet, but we can firmly get behind any Batman-themed naughtiness if that's what's going on. Happy birthday, Brianna!

Her birthday buddy Angelina is also a multi-AVN award winner throughout a half a dozen categories. She's mostly known for very her thick prescription eye glasses during scenes, as she is very blind without them. The protection from high-velocity body fluid launch is a beneficial side effect.

Angelina has maintained an incredible work schedule, her name gracing the covers of over 400 videos. She credits her longevity to a dedication to her health, and refusing the double penetration and gangbang scenes that win you awards but take their toll on your...working bits.

Angelina also starred in the big-budget porn sci-fi epic Upload, where she got to beat up a Teslabot. Her dream is to be an action star. Happy birthday, Eva!

Someone who has made the jump to legitimate acting is birthday girl Sasha Grey, who's 23 today. Grey is the only actress we can actually admit to seeing in action, mostly for a shower scene with porn's resident goth Mandy Morbid. Like the rest of those mentioned, she collected a great deal of AVN awards, though we're starting to wonder if it's only the award winners that get their birthdays mentioned in Wikipedia articles.

Grey has moved into mainstream pop culture fairly seamlessly, appearing in music videos for The Smashing Pumpkins and The Roots before landing a huge role in Academy Award-winning director Steven Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experience. The film deals with the phenomenon of men paying prostitutes to pretend to date them rather than have sex. Soderbergh was sold on casting Grey based on an interview he read with her where she talked about her favorite art film directors like Jean-Luc Godard. She's gone on to make more independent films, and even started an industrial band.

Happy birthday, Sasha, and a big hug to all of you.
