Tomie dePaola

It seems like yesterday we were circled up on the magic carpet with our fellow kindergartners as our teacher turned the pages of a Tomie dePaola book. The beloved children’s author/illustrator has created more than 200 stories in his 40-year career and garnered awards such as the Caldecott Honor Award and the Newbery Honor Award. His latest release, Brava, Strega Nona! A Heartwarming Pop-up Book, brings back Grandma Nona, this time with a twist. The New York Times-best-selling team of Sabuda and Reinhart have used their pop-up engineering skills to create six pop-up pages, with doors, shutters and lots of other lift-the-flap tabs to open. Brava, Strega Nona! promises to be a treasure for a new generation of dePaola readers.
