Truth and Consequences on the Mexico-United States Border: Protecting the Rights of All Border Residents

Lisa Brodyaga, founder of Refugio Del Rio Grande, a refugee camp and law office near Harlingen, will appear at today's presentation of Truth and Consequences on the Mexico-United States Border: Protecting the Rights of All Border Residents. Brodyaga takes on pro-bono cases of children born to midwives and citizenship cases. She'll discuss current conditions on the border, the legal maneuvering to deport undocumented immigrants and bar them from future legal entry to the United States, and the threat of deportation to Mexican-Americans along the border whose mothers gave birth at home and so lack hospital documentation. 7 p.m. Rothko Chapel, 1409 Sul Ross.
