Monday, September 3
Labor Day Brunch
Weights & Measures, 2808 Caroline, will be extending its brunch to Monday, September 3, with hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feast on Oaxaca scrambles, avocado toast, fried chicken and cake donuts, and roasted carrot pizza. Or try a bubbly-filled brunch at A’Bouzy, 2300 Westheimer, which is hosting a Veuve Clicquot Labor Day Brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can tack on Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut bottles for $49 per bottle while supplies lasts.
Tree House Happy Hour at The Grove
The Grove, 1611 Lamar, at Discovery Green is hosting a happy hour on its Treehouse Deck from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests can hit the upstairs patio, which is typically reserved for private events, to beat the heat with drink and food specials, and enjoy a special Def Leppard and Journey pre-party.
Wednesday, September 5
A Night in Sicily at Eloise Nichols Grill & Liquors
Eloise Nichols Grill & Liquors, 2490 Mid Lane, will host its first Mid Lane Wine Club event, A Night in Sicily, with beverage director Danny Frounfelkner. Guests can take a complimentary tour of six tantalizing Italian wines at dinner and the bar from 5 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, September 6
Cultured Cocktails at Boheme
The Art Colony Association will be hosting a Cultured Cocktails drinks and conversation event at Bar Boheme, 307 Fairview from 5 to 8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from all drink sales during happy hour will go to support the Art Colony Association. Guests can mix, mingle, and meet the the producers of Bayou City Art Festival.
Truffle Fall Dinner Series at Artisans Restaurant
Artisans Restaurant, 3201 Louisiana, will be hosting a Truffle Fall Dinner Series, with specials menus set for Thursday, September 6 and Thursday, September 20 from 5 to 10 p.m. Follow along on Facebook for details.
Pizza Making Class at Coppa Osteria
Coppa Osteria, 5210 Morningside, will be hosting Pizza Making Classes every Thursday in September. Each class will be limited to 10 guests, offering an intimate and interactive “pizza making” experience in Coppa’s Dough Room and paired with a three-course pizza dinner. Cost is $40 person and the classes will be held on Thursdays, September 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required and space is limited. Call 713-522-3535.

Grenache Wine Tasting at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse Galleria
The Galleria location of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, 5839 Westheimer, will celebrate the venerable Grenache grape and the wonderful wines it produces at a special wine tasting beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sip wines from regions such as the Southern Rhône Valley, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Australia and the United States for $95 per guest, plus tax and gratuity. Sunday, September 9
Beer and Cheese Tasting at Saint Arnold Brewery
The Houston Dairymaids and Saint Arnold will be teaming up for a Beer and Cheese Tasting, held at Saint Arnold Brewery, 2000 Lyons, from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests can enjoy handcrafted beers with Texas-made for $30 per person (make your reservations online).
Pre-Opening Celebration at La Lucha and Superica
Get a first look at restaurateur Ford Fry’s newest concepts, La Lucha and Superica, 1801 North Shepherd, from 2 to 6 p.m. The pre-opening celebration will feature Gulf-centric and Tex-Mex bites from chef Bobby Matos (a sampling of what’s to come), set to live music from reggae band Idiginis. Wine, beer and specialty cocktails available for purchase throughout the evening, with 100-percent of the cocktail proceeds benefiting the Southern Foodways Alliance and its mission to celebrate the diverse food cultures of the American South. While entry is free and open to the public, spots must be reserved in advance. Both restaurants will open to the public Monday, September 17.
Sunder Supper at The Grove
The Grove, 1611 Lamar, continues its Sunday Supper dinner series, when guests can enjoy the restaurant in a private event setting with a multi-course, family-style dinner and interactive cocktail hour. The event is limited to 40 seats. Dinner is $50 per person and includes a welcome cocktail, valet and gratuity. Wine pairings can be added for $20, and a cash bar will also be available. Sunday Supper will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
