Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.
PPK is revamping its menu, focusing on real-deal Peri Peri chicken and seafood. While the new menu will not be ready until Monday, January 21, the team will be popping up and showing off its goods at Kirby Ice House every Friday in January. Get a taste of peri peri wings, peri peri quarter chicken and flat fries with jerky (biltong) seasoning from PPK’s new chef and operator, Ryan Stewart.
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Get fit while enjoying Eureka Heights brews and fuel from Smoothie Strong and Bowled Up at the brewery’s first-ever Brew Years Resolution event. The day will feature free fitness classes and activities (times vary), including Flow it Forward Yoga, Pilates and Pints, Tough Mudder Bootcamp, rowing machines and a guided group run.
Saturday, noon to 10 p.m.
Drink for the puppies (and the kittens) at Pints for Pups at Holler Brewing Co. For each pint of beer sold, the brewery will donate $1 to Friends For Life, a no-kill animal adoption and rescue shelter based in Houston.

The Cottonmouth Club continues its monthly Houston Booze Bazaar, a tasting extravaganza featuring world-renowned spirits professionals and rockstar mixologists alongside an array of fine spirits from around the globe. This month brings Four Roses Bourbon, Bruichladdich Islay Scotch, and three selections from the CNI Brands portfolio, including a mezcal, kümmel, and a tasty French cider. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door and include a taste of every bottle on offer, a cocktail from the bar and a sampling of eats.
Sunday, 3 to 8 p.m.
Pizza aficionados won’t want to miss this Pizza Al Taglio versus Detroit Style pizza throwdown at Wooster’s Garden, featuring former Pi Pizza guy Anthony Calleo and Ben McPherson BOH Pasta. Detroit style pies will be offered in flavors like the Texas (featuring Willow’s bbq brisket) and Fredo (with pulled chicken and mushroom alfredo); while Al Taglio style will come in flavors from “Scarpetta” Bolognese to Buffalo Caprese.
