This past weekend a picture was loaded onto loltatz.com showing a 13 year-old Russian boy with a full tattoo sleeve, given to him by his father, a tattoo artist.
This pisses me off because I had to wait until I was almost 24 years old myself to have a full tattoo sleeve. Not that anything was holding me back before, it just took me that long to develop that much coverage.
The kid looks pretty hard with his Fred Perry polo and shaved head, which means he's probably a little fresh-cut skinhead, or just super-hip and really into ska and reggae because his real dad is Pete Doherty.
I'm not one to judge, but I do know that that the things I liked at 13 aren't necessarily the things that would make good lifetime tattoos. In 1996 I loved chicks in bikinis, softcore porn, Jenny McCarthy, the Smashing Pumpkins, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and Beavis & Butthead.
If I had done this at 13, I'm scared to think of what I'd have in my sleeve work. Probably my football uniform number and the name of my 8th grade girlfriend I dated for a week.
