A landscape architecture and urban planning biz recently moved into a spot on the Washington strip, and they're looking for mural/street artists to pretty up the outside of their building this weekend.
The spot is located at 1902 Washington Avenue (at Silver Street in front of The Drake). Houston Street Art, which is organizing the beautification shindig, says painting is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Though originality is definitely the modus operandi, don't be getting all wild because there are some parameters.
Artists need to have a rough sketch or design idea (preferably something that represents Houston) before going to town. Pay heed to the paint zones, which can't include gang, music or company shout-outs. And don't be that cheapskate bugaboo begging to use other folks' materials because you'll need to bring your own (except for ladders, which will be provided).
