Blasted Serial Numbers and Eye Heart Lepers Productions have teamed up to bring Houston the first stop in the Masters Of Southern Metal tour. Singer Clay Aiken is the headliner and he wants you to LOSE YOUR EFFING MIND! After three successful seasons of his reality show Tattoos, You, and CO2, Clay has reunited with his pre-American Idol black metal big band The Brass Bats to bring H-Town peeps an evening that'll make your ears BLEED! February 14th, 7:30 p.m. at Jones Hall! One night only! Clay performs his personal favorites like "Chained And Do You Like It Melody," "Moon River of Styx," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Your Family, Or Your Dog" plus brand new numbers from Disney's new Broadway production of Lysistrata. Sharing the bill with Clay will be The Dads Who Can Play "Freebird" Garage Band, Austin's own Ankle Bracelets, and straight outta N'awlins (and still running!) DJ Andouille Parts.
It may seem like ages ago that you first heard Clay sing on TV, but time is definitely still on his side. "I can't believe I'm still here!" Clay admits. "Goodness knows I was out of my tree for a short while there..." After Idol and an ill advised attempt to release an album covering every song from The Beatles White Album and an aborted collaboration with Down and Crowbar guitarist Kirk Windstein, Clay regrouped and decided to get back to what he does best: SINGING SONGS TO SHATTER YOUR MIND! But offstage, after such an intense show, what does Clay like to do to unwind? "Well, you know, I have a little boy now. We watch Nickelodeon...I enjoy cooking. Maybe a little golf..." AWESOME!!! Call 911 and the FBI and prepare yourself Houstonians! Your city is about to become an OPEN AIR LUNATIC ASYLUM!!!
As a special Valentine's Day offer, Art Attack wants you to tell us which band originally toured with Clay after the famous "incident" where he punched out American Idol judge Simon Cowell? Was it Dimmu Borgir, Kylesa, or Melechesh? Be the first to email us the correct answer, and you'll share a bottle of Southern Comfort with Clay and his posse backstage after the gig. That is, if you're STILL STANDING!!!
Please note: Although the Houston Symphony is presenting this concert, the Houston symphony will not be performing at this concert.
