On the bustling, often jammed-packed Bissonnet Street, there's a unique boutique that promises to update your New York sense of style. The ladies at Leap (2314 Bissonnet, 713-526-4580) have found and selected East Coast designers such as Rachel Comey, Tucker, and a dash of French designers like Isabel Marant. Leap started in a humble house in Montrose eight years ago, but in 2006 it discovered its clientele was easier to reach in Rice Village. This trend-based boutique has the ability to instantly transform you from a confused Houston shopper to an 'in the know' New York fashionista. The bungalow style and cozy interior rivals some of the small and exclusive boutiques in Paris (but with a much friendlier staff). Leap doesn't just help the women of Houston find their European/New York flair with clothing, jewelry and accessories; it also keeps the drivers entertained with its changing window displays.
