Being a longtime observer of Houston sports means that I’ve seen an awful lot of uniforms. Some good. Many bad. So I thought I would give you what I consider to be the five worst uniforms in Houston sports history.
I hate these uniforms. I can’t stress enough how much I hate these things.
I hate the colors. I hate the pinstripes. I hate the hat. I hate what they’ve done to the logo.
The colors are dull and boring. And they kind of look like pajamas to me.
Damn Drayton, if you wanted to go retro, you should have gone retro with the unis and gone to the late-60s/early-70s look.
Maybe it’s just me, but I just don’t think this color of red – excuse me, battle red – goes with this color of blue – excuse me, steel blue – and I really don’t think the combo works when you go for that junior high school combo of red pants, red jerseys, and blue helmet.
Was anybody thinking here?
And remind me to tell you the whole liberty white story sometime.
I’m sorry, but I always thought that Rocket logo with the teeth was moronic.
I didn’t like the color scheme of red, white, and blue – I always liked the red and gold, and the current red and silver is nice.
I especially didn’t like the pinstripes.
Yes, I’m talking about the rainbows.
These uniforms made the team the laughingstock of the majors.
I’m not even going to bother describing these things, or talking about what’s wrong with them.
Just look at them.
Okay, it’s the rainbows, but instead of the orange cap which, strangely enough, makes sense with the mostly orange and red and yellow jersey, the Astros for some reason have decided to go with the blue cap. -- John Royal
