Houston loves Halloween, and Houstonians love food, so if you are too old for trick-or-treating, why not reserve a table at a restaurant and spend the final night of October enjoying some spooky and delicious food? We've compiled a list of some of the area's restaurants that will be offering special menus for the evening just for you. Have a ghoulish dinner!
Jonathan's The Rub 9061 Gaylord, 713-465-8200
Jonathan's The Rub will host a Halloween Special dinner featuring the tastes and colors of autumn. Choose from a variety of entrées such as a pan-seared crispy confit of duck breast, roasted apple cider pork loin and butterflied filet mignon with a gaucho purée of roasted garlic, sautéed onion and grilled jalapeños, topped with two sunny-side-up eggs.

Triniti is putting on a Halloween dinner bash that starts at 7 p.m., but the fun begins at 5 p.m. with music from DJ LoveFreq and Halloween-themed drinks from the bar, as well as special dishes, all with spooky names, of course -- Red Deviled Eggs, Bat Wings, Broken Ribs, Poke in the Eye, Seafood "Vampchana" and Pno. After spending time at the bar, head to the dining room for a five-course Halloween-themed dinner, starting with "A Bite of Veal": Thai chile sweetbreads with miso butterscotch, pickles and horseradish. Next up is "Heart Beets": beets with hearts of palm, sunchoke custard, lemon crumb and pumpkin seeds. The third course includes foie gras torchon, a fava bean salad and Chianti vinaigrette, which Triniti is calling "Hannibal Lecter." Refresh your palate with a spiced tomato sorbet, or "Bloodied Mary," before diving into the fourth course of "Screaming Lamb," which is lamb dumplings, lentils and smoked tongue with tomato and root vegetable piccalilli. Finally, end the night with "Sam's Graveyard," or Inaya sponge, strawberry chantilly, raspberry powder and butter pecan ice cream." Reserve your place today for this $55 dinner.

Reserve your spot on a Star Fleet Entertainment Yacht for Halloween for $79; $39 for children ages 3-12. Cruise on Clear Lake and Galveston Bay from 8 to 10 p.m. and enjoy an autumn dinner buffet complete with stuffed chicken with cider vinegar sauce, wild rice, and chocolate mousse. There will also be a costume contest and a live DJ for those who want to dance the night away.
Mr. Peeples Seafood and Steaks 1911 Bagby, 713-652-0711
From 9 p.m. until 2 a.m., Mr. Peeples will be known as Mr. Creetures during its Halloween Party. Purchase a ticket in advance for $20 or $25 at the door to enjoy "Horror D'oeuvres, Tricks and Treats," as well as live music and dancing. All guests must be 21 or older.

It's a twofer celebration at Americas on Halloween. The Latin American restaurant will celebrate both Halloween and Día De Los Muertos with a $35 prix fixe menu. Choose from a variety of empanadas (beef, chicken, shrimp and pork, or spinach), Caesar salad or a lobster corndog for your appetizer. Enjoy ceviche, shrimp tallarines, carnitas pibil or the churrasco beef tenderloin steak for an entrée. Finish dinner with a tres leches cake, alfajores or a chocolate truffle cake. The evening's fun will also include a costume contest with prizes, dancing, a live DJ and specialty cocktails.

Ouisie's Table will offer a special dessert menu all day on Halloween. If you can't live without sweets on Halloween, then choose from a variety of desserts, including pumpkin pie, red velvet cake and fancy cupcakes. Treat yourself to an incredible sweet at Ouisie's and perhaps you won't be tempted to steal your kid's trick-or-treat candy.
Dunkin' Donuts All locations
Don't wait until dinner to enjoy the Halloween festivities around town: Stop at Dunkin' Donuts and pick up a Boston Scream Donut for breakfast. Of course you can purchase this doughnut decorated with an orange icing drizzle before Halloween, but you should make Thursday even more special by picking up a dozen on your way in to work -- Halloween is the final day it will be available. However, Dunkin' will offer a Pumpkin Pie Donut after Halloween, as well as a new Frozen Pumpkin Coffee Coolatta.
Khun Kay Thai Cafe 1209 Montrose, 713-524-9614
Khun Kay Thai Café will serve a special Halloween Khantoke plate for $9.95. Chef Kay Sodjai has created a dish with blood-red curry sauce, chopped Thai pumpkin and your choice of beef, chicken or tofu. She will also serve black rice as a sticky rice dessert. A salad and an egg roll are part of the feast. Bring your own wine on Halloween and pay a very reasonable $5 corkage fee.
Hugo's 1600 Westheimer, 713-524-7744
Head to Hugo's for a Menu de Dia De Los Muertos, beginning on Halloween and running through November 2. Choose from a variety of appetizers, including tamales de elote (tamales with queso fresco, rajas con crema and salsa de tomatillo) and beef cheeks with salsa de pasilla. Chef Hugo Ortega will also serve braised lamb shank with red mole and butternut squash puree for an entrée, as well as roasted pork with fruit- and nut-stuffed poblano peppers topped with a walnut sauce and pomegranate seeds. Finally, enjoy a creamy dulce de leche and roasted pumpkin mousse with pumpkin-seed powder and baked meringue for dessert. The menu costs $35 per person.

Both Highland Village and CityCentre RA Sushi locations will hold a Boo Bash party from 7 p.m. until the restaurants close. Dress in your costume and enjoy specialty items such as Vampire Chicken (crispy chicken sautéed with onions, green and red bell peppers and Japanese pumpkin, all tossed in a sesame chile sauce and served with crispy ramen noodles), or a Spider roll with a tempura batter of Japanese pumpkin. From 6 to 10 p.m. on Halloween, 13 Celsius will host a Trick-or-Treat Wine Tasting. The costume theme for the night is "animals," but you can wear whatever you want. Wine-tasting stations will be set up around the bar for you to "trick-or-treat," just as you would visit houses in a neighborhood as a kid -- except the candy is vino.
