Crawfish season is at its close, as noted by Robb Walsh last week, and you can catch the last big boil of the season at Calliope's Po-Boy tomorrow, June 13. They're serving up the biggest mudbugs of the year for $26.99 per person, which includes all-you-can-eat crawfish, corn, potatoes and other veggies. Groups of six or larger get a discount: $20 per person. Calliope's is BYOB, so bring a cooler of Abita and laissez les bon temps roulez.
Also up this Saturday is the screening of Beer Wars, as mentioned last week. Although tickets are nearly sold out, beer lovers across the city shouldn't miss this once-in-a-lifetime dinner-and-a-movie event with the director herself.

Next weekend will feature an all-day tour of India, Houston-style. Members of the Houston Chowhounds will be leading an Indian food and drink expedition across the city starting at 11 a.m. (or 10 a.m. for those who want to come earlier to get henna or eyebrow threading done at Aisha's), with stops at Raja Sweets for lunch, Roop Sari Palace, Namaste, India Grocers and Bombay Sweets for tasty $1 samosas. RSVP for the tour here. (The tour itself is free, but you'll need to bring cash for the goodies.)
