Thunderado's Paul Beebe (center) and friends at the Continental, Christmas 2007

The Small Sounds is another local project Beebe participates in, and the band has a somewhat higher profile than Thunderado due to regular gigging at Rudyard's and other local venues. The sound is a sparse mixture of pop, psychedelia and wispy alternative country, which makes them fit for a wide range of stages. Debut CD The Small Sounds is available now. - William Michael Smith

9 p.m. tonight at the Continental Club, 3700 Main, 713-529-9899.
