The Word Alive is in no way messing around. Their music hits you in the face like you're a kid with a smart mouth. It's a spine-shattering, vulgar, primitive, form of metal that will leave you bleeding in its wake.
We fired off an email out of our email cannon to vocalist Telle Smith to see what we could learn about his Royal Growlness in 30 Seconds.
Rocks Off: What is worst song in the world?
Telle Smith: Anything by Blood On The Dancefloor - worst music and even worse lyrics. They should not be an example for how to be anything related to being a human being. I've actually heard they are nice, so I don't get it.
RO: What is the best lyric in the world?
TS: Every song on Son I Loved You at Your Darkest by As Cities Burn. That record really meant a lot to me and still does to this day.
RO: Someone throws a beer bottle at you onstage. What do you do?
TS: Honestly that is pretty messed up, people like that don't deserve to go to shows. If I saw them I would have them removed. That's extremely dangerous. I don't care if that makes me sound square; people have died from stuff like that.
RO: Without worrying about space, time, or the laws of physics, what would be the ultimate gig to play?
TS: The first band to play on Mars would be pretty sick! The Moon would be too easy; Mars would take some crazy technology.
RO: What would you buy with a million dollars?
TS: House, car, English bulldog, black pug, lots of food, a tour bus, and anything my family needs.
RO: What would you buy with your last dollar?
TS: Peace Tea, lemon flavored.
RO: If you could canonize another musician who would it be and of what would they be the patron saint?
TS: Chino Moreno of the Deftones. He's my favorite musician and biggest inspiration.
RO: What will be written on the plaque beneath the giant statue future generations erect in your honor?
