Some rappers happen to be thoughtful, intelligent people. Each week Rocks Off will have some of them here discussing issues relevant to their culture.
This Week's Panel: Not Invited: This Week's Prompt:
There are a bunch of things we're responsible for writing each week; it's like, these borderline racist jokes aren't going to write themselves, y'know.
Each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, we write a column that requires us to talk to musicians about things. Which means people have take time out of their very busy days to answer questions. Which means that they are neglecting other, likely more important things they should be doing (work, taking care of babies, etc). Which means we should at least acknowledge that by giving thanks. That's what this is. So, regarding the Rap Round Table:
Thanks to Paul Wall, one of the very first sirs to offer his time to the column. No kidding, he literally sent message from Iraq once, saying that he still wanted to participate in whatever that week's prompt was. Good, good guy, that Paul Wall.
Thanks to the trillest of the all the OGs, Bun B, whose wisdom and insight is as endless as the world is round.
Thanks to Slim Thug, who has occasionally descended from the mountaintops to answer questions. The best instance: When, rather than crafting his own answer, he just retweeted what Bun B said.
Thanks to the Assholes, Trae and Z-Ro. They will be in concert together for the first time ever soon. Make sure you purchase all of your End of the World supplies early. They will likely split the Earth in two with their fury.
Thanks to Lil' Flip, perpetually underappreciated in the Houston rap cannon.
Thanks to Chamillionaire for answering that one question that one time. He and Propain are engaged in heated competition to see who can ignore us the most fully.
Thanks to Kyle Hubbard for always being honest and periodically hilarious.
Thanks to Renzo. He very likely hates us, but answers questions nonetheless.
Thanks to Brad Gilmore, always good for a long winded response.
