Talk about great news, Lonesome, Onry and Mean's favorite California psychedelic disco glam rockers Gram Rabbit will play Last Concert Café August 14. According the band's management, this will be the anchor date for their Texas swing, but no other Texas dates have yet been announced.

The band was last here two years back when they were part of a screwed up, out of synch SXSW spillover bill at Super Happy Fun Land that mixed monsters and midgets. The band is touring on their January release Miracles & Metaphors, the followup to 2007's RadioAngel and the RobotBeat.

Voted LA Weekly's 2005 New Band of the Year, these Joshua Tree refugees have one of the most eclectic musical mixes in rock right now. As Jesika von Rabbit has noted, "We sound like your i-Pod on shuffle."

Come back next week when we'll have an interview with these desert party animals whose followers have taken to wearing rabbit ears to their gigs.

9 p.m., Saturday, August 14, Last Concert Café, 1403 Nance, 713-226-8563
