Tim Brookover has been the editor of OutSmart magazine, a key staffer for city councilmember Sue Lovell and is currently president of the Houston GLBT Community Center.

He's also fighting cancer at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and racking up some dismaying bills doing so.

So friends and supporters are throwing a spaghetti-lunch fundraiser for him Sunday at his church, Bethel United Church of Christ, on Shepherd near Washington Avenue.

Who doesn't like spaghetti? Especially when it's for a good cause for a good guy?

"Money raised will be used to help them deal with living costs during this period while Tim is waiting for a decision on his long-term disability application while at the same time he is earning no income," says supporter Burton Bagby-Grose.

Tickets are ten bucks and the event starts at noon. Eat up.
