There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who wear fake reindeer antlers during the Christmas season and those that don't.
I am the former.
What. You thought I would be the latter? Just because I love to make fun of crap? Honestly, what kind of pop culture writer would I be if I didn't take the time to celebrate the season of giving? Mostly giving crap, but I digress.
This year has given me, Miss Pop Rocks, a lot to be thankful for. Brit Brit's comeback, for one, has freed me to write about a young woman who - now that she is being manipulated by her Svengali father once more - is stable again. Thanks, Santa.
I'm grateful that Saturday Night Live enjoyed a resurgence of funny thanks to the election. I'll treasure those impressions, because now that the election is over and Amy Poehler is leaving, the show will most likely go back to being horrible again.
Santa, I want to personally thank you for AMC's brilliant series Mad Men. For a gal like me who's way into 50s fashion and feminism, it's made me grateful that I get to wear vintage clothing without having to worry about a male superior pinching my ass.
And what about Angie and the twins! Wow. What a pop culture moment that was. Rich, gorgeous people having babies just makes me realize how much I want to be a broke, fairly attractive mother someday.
Hef's break up with Holly Madison (talk about ho, ho, ho), Jennifer Aniston's desperate attempts to appear relevant and carefree, Heidi and Spencer's idiocy, and Madonna's split from Guy (frankly, he could do better seeing as how freaky deaky she looks lately)...all of these were just pop culture diamonds to add to my collection of pop culture gems.

ANYway, I have a lot to be thankful for, and above all I want to thank everyone who takes the time to read my posts. Your comments, both nice and not so nice, make my day. I'll be on va-kay for a while, but hopefully by the time I get back, Oprah will have lost the weight and all will be right with the world again.
Happy Holidays to you and yours.
LOVE Miss Pop Rocks
