This weird year could only end weirdly, and that's what it's doing, with some people getting Thursday and Friday off, some people just Friday, and -- we assume -- some poor souls being told "Hey, New Year's is on Saturday, tough luck." (We assume many in that last category lack sufficient worker documentation.)

Here at the Houston Press, we're in the first group of lucky souls, but fear not -- as the seashore souvenir t-shirts almost say, the bloggings will continue until morale improves.

We'll have stuff all day long tomorrow and Friday, including some very helpful tips on how not to get a DWI conviction. And, of course, any breaking news that happens along the way.

So keep on checking back, check our other blogs too, and have a happy and safe New Year's celebration.
