Houston police have put out a special call for more information in the death of Jason Jefferson, 39.
Jefferson was involved in an altercation outside Rich's, at 2401 San Jacinto, early in the morning of February 17. He was hospitalized with a serious head injury and died February 27.
HPD is offering only sketchy details of what happened -- part of the reason they're asking for help, we guess -- but KPRC has reported that Jefferson got in a fight with a bouncer at Rich's.
The station said Jefferson and a friend had left the crowd because their car was about to be towed, and were not let back in by the bouncer.

The bouncer "beat [Jefferson] over the head with a 'chain rope' used to block the entrance," a friend told the station. The bouncer, on the other hand, said he hit Jefferson because he looked like he was going for a weapon.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the altercation to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
