The Sharpstown International School is a magnet for grades 6-12 that prides itself on its worldly view.

That would naturellement include sex, mais oui?

In the heart of abstinence-only-lovin' Texas, SIS has been sporting a hallway poster that tells teens that condoms are cheaper than squalling babies. A sensible enough message, but one that might set on fire the hair of right-wingers who believe a little Biblin' will keep teenagers from doing what teenagers have done for millenia.

HISD, of course, has an "abstinence-plus" policy on sex education, which teaches abstinence is the best way to avoid pregnancy and STDs, while also providing information on condoms and other forms of contraception.

So the poster -- with an approval signature from the principal in the lower left-hand corner -- fits in with HISD policy.

Extra points for not only emphasizing the money factor, but also the aspects of parenting that sometimes demand more patience than the average teen has.
