Unidentified Man, Bayou Body Count No. 65

It was a little before dawn on Monday when gunshots rang out into the early morning quiet behind a 24-hour Mexican restaurant in southwest Houston. A body fell to the ground in the parking lot. Someone called 911.

When police arrived at about 4:30 a.m., they found a man, whose name has not been released, dead on the pavement. He was wearing a security guard uniform. His gun was missing.

Police say that the man was trying to get into his car when two strangers walked up to him. The men began to fight and the security guard was shot several times. Police fear the gunmen may have stolen the security officer's weapon.

Police say they do not yet know who the killers are. It's been reported that the security guard's nephew was supposed to meet his uncle at Ruchi's Taqueria at 8054 South Gessner after his uncle finished his shift at a nearby bar. Police say one of the gunmen has a distinct limp and that the two killers got away in a silver or gray Nissan sedan.
