Now we learn that the same Chicago-based company which introduced the first-ever wireless radar detector that uses GPS to track intersections with red-light cameras plans to showcase a sleeker, more portable version at this weekend’s Consumer Electronics Show in Sin City. “We think of it as dashboard jewelry,” a Cobra Electronics rep said of the new XRS 9950. At more than $300 a pop, it would take five $75 citations from the city to make the gadget worthwhile. Or, you could just slow the hell down. – Todd Spivak
