Rocks Off sat down with Peelander Yellow of Japanese action-comic punk super-posse Peelander-Z to see what we could learn about him in 30 seconds.
Rocks Off: What is the worst song in the world and why?
Peelander Yellow: "Ghostbusters." If I hear the song, I can't stop dancing, singing looking for ghosts, and beating them up!
RO: What is the best lyric in the world?
PY: "Old MacDonald had a farm." It's such a fun HAPPEE song! That's why we covered the song on our new album P-TV-Z that has just come out on Sept 28.
RO: Someone throws a beer bottle at you. What do you do?
PY: Catch it and change the bottle to a white mad tiger like David Copperfield does!!!!!
RO: Without worrying about time, space, or physical laws, what would be the ultimate gig?
PY: I'd really like to ride on a space shuttle in Houston, and play a show in the universe!
RO: What will you buy with your first million dollars?
PY: I will buy Japanese Yen!!!!
RO: What would you buy with your last dollar?
PY: I would get a pen and draw something really cool. The drawing would be sold for one million dollars.
RO: If you could canonize another musician as a saint, who would it be and what would they be the patron saint of?
PY: Saint Michael Jackson, the Patron Saint of Bubbles.
Peelander-Z plays Fitzgerald's Wednesday, October 6, with Somosuno and Clockpole. Tickets are $10. www.fitzlivemusic.com.
