Looking for something to do today as your Memorial Day weekend holiday winds down?

Tonight at 8 o'clock, Stark Naked Theatre Company begins the first of three readings on Monday nights starting with the farce What the Butler Saw, by the late British playwright Joe Orton.  It begins with a psychiatrist who as part of a job interview convinces an applicant to take her clothes off. And then, of course, his wife arrives.

Directed by Philip Hays, the six-member cast includes Philip Lehl as Dr. Prentice, Kim Tobin-Lehl as Mrs. Prentice and James Belcher as Dr. Rance.

The series continues on June 6 with the comedy School for Scandal, a much tinkered-with work written in the 18th century by Richard Brinsley Sheridan. The plot revolves around the machinations of Lady Sneerwell (really), who spreads scandal as a way of ordering the lives of others.

Directed by Philip Lehl, the cast includes Lehl, Luis Galindo, Nick Farco, Susan Koozin, Molly Searcu, Susan Draper and Celeste Roberts.

And on June 14, Stark Naked will present Marc Palmieri's The Groundling  directed by Robert Meek. The Groundling has been described as half comedy and half tragedy, done in both verse and prose.  The cast includes Kevin Dean, Jennifer Dean, Patricia Duran and James Belcher.

The Monday night readings are pay what you can with a suggested donation of $10 at Spring Street Studios, 1824 Spring. For information, visit starknakedtheatre.com.
