If you've ever wanted to watch a bunch of dance-happy cops do the running man in an ultra-cheesy, satisfyingly awkward video, the time is now.
The Houston Police Department premiered its answer to the #RunningManChallenge, the latest viral Internet dance trend in which people post videos of themselves doing their own renditions of the Running Man. It's also been sweeping police agencies across the country and the world — and evidently forcing cops of all ranks and ages to show off their best moves on camera.
The entertaining six-minute video features special appearances from Mayor Sylvester Turner and Acting Police Chief Martha Montalvo (who, yes, also dance) and features clips from the Johnson Space Center, the Astros' press room, the giant football outside NRG Stadium counting down to the Super Bowl, an officer wearing a panda head, and even dancing horses at a park downtown.
Yeah, the staff at HPD Public Affairs who produced this video had an adequate amount of fun making it.
At the end of the video, HPD officers challenge the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Dallas Police Department to partake in the #RunningManChallenge.
And trust us, there is nothing we want to see more than Sheriff Ron Hickman doing an awkward dance.
