On Tuesday, April 4, the 15th Annual Houston Press Menu of Menus Extravaganza lands at Silver Street Station,1501 Silver, from 7 to 10 p.m., with unlimited food samples from more than 40 restaurants, along with eight wine, beer and cocktail tastings and endless opportunities to schmooze and people-watch.
One of the vendors to look out for is SweetRide, a gourmet dessert food truck helmed by Kim Clemmons, who left a job in oil and gas in 2010 to pursue art, and simultaneously launched her dessert business to help support herself while doing so. SweetRide is known for its incredible ice cream stuffed chocolate truffles, sorbet "fruit shell," ice cream nachos, sno-cones, huge stuffed ice cream sandwiches and wild ice cream flavors, including a boozy rum and cinnamon flavor as seen in the video below.
SweetRide is just one of many exceptional local businesses taking part at this Menu of Menus. Participating restaurants include Boheme, Beaver’s, Field & Tides, Krisp Bird & Batter, Peli Peli Kitchen and Pepper Twins. Also, you won't want to miss the Iron Fork Competition, a cook-off pitting Lyle Bento of Southern Goods against Gary Ly of Underbelly.
Advance tickets to Menu of Menus are $55 for general admission and include entrance and unlimited food, wine, beer and beverage sampling. VIP tickets, with one-hour early access, are $95.
