1st Annual Picnic for Progress

Justice Forward
On Thursday, October 22, the local nonprofit Justice Forward, which recently rebranded and expanded its mission to help break the cycle of incarceration in Houston, will host its first annual Picnic for Progress. The socially distanced, outdoor fundraiser at the Parador Gardens will be held from 6 to 8 PM and will raise funds for Justice Forward to support Harris County specialty court clients, who have been especially impacted by COVID-19. Justice Forward has been instrumental during the pandemic, which has left many court clients unable to pay rent, purchase groceries or communicate with their support systems. The organization has stepped in to assist with rent and bills and to purchase laptops and cell phones so that clients can report to probation officers and attend counseling sessions virtually.
