Bar 5015

Bar 5015 Hosts Family Bike Ride & Community Expo For Back To School

Popular 3rd Ward Bar, Bar 5015 is known for its community involvement, and health & wellness efforts. During the pandemic, bar owner Steve Rogers wanted to create an initiative that would be safe, bring opportunities to 3rd ward, and promote health and wellness amongst the black and brown communities, so he collaborated with local bike clubs for the first 5015 bike ride. Since their September 2020 kick-off, the bike ride has grown tremendously. July’s monthly bike ride is a back to school ride where families are encouraged to bring their kids out to ride throughout the city. The event will kick off at Bar 5015 at 8:00AM and will consist of a 15-mile ride through the city where they will stop at various minority owned businesses to support. Once the ride is over, the families will have the opportunity to fellowship at Bar 5015, as there will be vendors, giveaways, food trucks, special guests, and more. There will also be a special presentation consisting of Kid’prenuers. This month’s event partners consist of Demi-Gods bikers, Street Ridaz, Eleven 86 Water, and more. "The pandemic was tough on a lot of people. For most, it was hard being stuck in the house with little to no activities, so I wanted to create a monthly ride that would be safe, healthy, and motivating for the community. We are encouraging families to bring their kids out and enjoy this month’s ride. Our goal is to spotlight kids that are doing great things in the community and support their efforts to excel in this upcoming school year," says bar owner, Steve Rogers. [Organizer's description]
