David James Strain : Precision of Space

Being exhibited are drawings and paintings which show the progression from his photographic student work to his more recent acrylic paintings on wood. This exhibition shows the foundation of David James Strain’s current approach to creating art. The hard-lined black and white drawings of futuristic cityscapes to the sculptural approach of his first large black and white painting on wood titled Ascension. The imagery transitions to a colored blend of hard-lined architecture and organic forms that appear to move and breakaway from their environments. All of these pieces are original, hand crafted and communicate his growth as an artist.
