Expiration of Boyhood, from the series Dear Black boy, 2018.
In conjunction with FotoFest Biennial 2022, Houston based artist Brian Ellison presents his most recent work Dear Black boy.
Ellison is a philanthropist, photographer, cinematographer and conceptual visual artist who believes there is no limit to self-expression and that art is a universal language that can be the catalyst for healing. Through his lens, Brian documents the everyday Black experience such as gentrification's impact on historical communities, under-publicized Black love and comradery, parenthood, racial injustice in the education system and the persistent courage of Black women and men.
