Emerson String Quartet presented by Chamber Music Houston

This legendary ensemble, though retiring, offers a special performance in tribute to a beloved Houston audience and the friendships forged over the past five decades. TIME Magazine describes Emerson as “America’s Greatest Quartet.” Tonight’s program features works by Mendelssohn and Beethoven, with a new work by Sarah Kirkland Snider, commissioned for the Emerson String Quartet’s retirement. Program: Sarah Kirkland Snider - new commission for ESQ; Beethoven - Quartet in C-sharp minor, op. 131; Mendelssohn - Octet in E-flat, op. 20.
